There’s something exciting about going to a local farmers market and buying freshly made bread or vegetables that still have dirt on them. I have always preferred to buy local over buying from the grocery store. Food actually tastes different when it’s grown in rich soil or made from locally grown flour. The difference in flavour of a vegetable that is grown outdoors with sunshine and rain water compared to one grown in a green house with water from a hose is huge. It’s huge because suddenly the vegetable HAS a flavour.
Here’s a great short video on a baker who makes all his delicious goodies from locally grown produce. Not only is it better for you but it supports your local community and farmers.
