Yesterday I had the pleasure of hanging out with my awesome creative friend Jenna Kroon from Kroon designs. She makes absolutely wonderful things that are all up-cycled right down to her gift bags made of newspaper. I have known Jenna for many years having gone to high school and college together. We both attended Dawson College in the Illustration & Design program where we developed our love for all art forms. Needless to say, we’re both creatives!

Every winter near christmas time Jenna gets ready for the christmas bazaars that begin to fill up the high school gyms and community centres. Being a seller at these bazaars obviously requires bags which is what today’s activity was: bag making. Having started with a nice sandwich and cup of tea we were ready to start bag building!

The process is long-ish for each hand made newspaper bag but totally worth it in the end. It’s also lots of fun to read old news while you’re at it! Comic strips, puzzles and the travel section seem to make the most interesting looking bags. Here’s a little sneak peak at some of the bags as well as some goodies Jenna will be selling at the christmas bazaars around Montreal.
